Agricultural Produce Market Committee, Akluj
With the noble intention of ensuring that farmers get a fair market price for their agricultural produce and to prevent fraud in the sale of agricultural produce, the late S.M. Shankarrao Mohite-Patil established the Agricultural Produce Market Committee on 2 March 1950. The market committee, which was started 75 years ago, is known as the leading market committee in Maharashtra. The area of operation of the market committee is the entire Malshiras taluka and farmers from the surrounding talukas also come to this market committee for buying and selling. The main yard of the market committee is at Akluj and the secondary markets are at Natepute, Malshiras, Velapur, Piliiv, Shindewadi. The market committee owns a total of 70 acres of land, including Akluj 45 acres, Natepute 19 acres, Shindewadi 3 acres, Malshiras 3 acres.
